The "Hag of McMinnville" (as locals would refer to her) is a cryptid born of unholy circumstance in the Pacific Northwest. Her name was lost to time, but her story will never be forgotten.

In America's infancy, sometime between The Great Migration and the Industrial Revolution, a lone vagrant passed through town. The town? Today we know it as McMinnville, Oregon. All that is known of her life before the transformation was that she was a young woman, pregnant, and traveling alone.

A cult (some have dubbed it 'The Whisper Cult', 'The Silent Tongue', 'The Dead Tongue', amongst many other aliases) abducted this vagrant, performing a ritual over her. The supposed 'curse' cast upon the woman and her baby was performed in a language that predates the Oregon Territory (thus the 'Dead Tongue' et al).

What resulted was a ghost known as "The Hag of McMinnville" and the baby crawled from the dead woman's womb, perverted beyond recognition into a beast. The Hag is said to take pity on wayward women and guide them to safety. The beast is claimed to be responsible for many disappearances over the centuries.
