THE TRUTH

Like most legends, the Truth lies somewhere between all of the differing stories.

What remains consistent between all stories that predate public record is that a woman with child was traveling alone. A few locals were aware that she intended to enter the woods and return, though she never came back.

There are three possibilities;

1) She entered the woods, met foul play, and perished

2) She entered the woods and succumbed to natural causes (exposure, animal attacks, etc)

3) She entered the woods and continued on North towards modern-day Washington, living out the remainder of her life elsewhere
